Clare woman arrested for prescription fraud
A 26-year-old Clare Woman is facing charges of forging prescriptions following an eight- month investigation by Troopers from the Mt. Pleasant State Police Post.
According to a release, the investigation began in Farwell when evidence was discovered of forged or altered prescriptions that were submitted. The successful investigation is credited to cooperation of multiple pharmacy technicians, the Michigan Automated Prescription System, Clare City Police, State Police Troopers and the Clare County Prosecutor’s office.
The Clare County Prosecutor issued a warrant and the Clare woman was taken in custody November 22. She has been charged with “Controlled Substances Drugs – Possession of Forged Prescription.”
