Saad receives outstanding alumni award
Sergeant David Saad of the Clare City Police Department received the Jill Gallihugh Outstanding Alumni Award from the Delta College Police Academy during its commencement ceremony held earlier this month. Twenty recruits graduated at the 90th Delta College Police Academy commencement. State Representative Stacy Erwin Oakes was the keynote speaker.
Sgt. Saad is from Marine City, Michigan. He received a degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Claire Community College. Saad graduated from the 63rd Delta College Police Academy in 1998. He was then hired by the Clare County Sheriff’s Office in 1998 where his duties included Marine Patrol, Correction, Bailiff, and Friend of the Court Warrant Officer.
Sgt. Saad was hired by the Clare City Police Department in November 1999, and has served the department and its citizens since that time. In an effort to challenge himself and become a better officer, he has been an Evidence Technician, Fire Investigator, Property Room Manager, Union Representative, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Field Training Officer, and Neighborhood Watch Coordinator.
He was promoted to Sergeant two years ago. In addition, he currently oversees the Department’s 20 officer volunteer reserve force.
