Laraceny report leads to meth lab
It might not be the best thing to report a robbery if you have a meth lab in the backyard.
That is exactly what happened Thursday, when Clare County Sheriff’s Deputies went to a Franklin Township home to investigate a larceny complaint.
The stolen property had all been returned to the owner, but information the deputies collected when they arrived to investigate led them to believe there might be a meth lab on the property.
After a search warrant was obtained, Clare County Deputies, Michigan State Police Meth Response Team members and BAYANET (Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team) officers discovered the meth lab in a travel trailer in the yard.
The meth lab was removed from the scene, officers said, and although no arrests have been made yet, the investigation is ongoing and arrests are expected.
