Volleyball roundup – County teams drop JPC openers
Harrison’s volleyball team traveled to Sanford-Meridian to open up its Jack Pine Conference schedule Wednesday night, falling to the host Mustangs 25-12, 25-19 and 25-21.
Sadie Hall led Meridian with six kills, five aces and was also the Mustang’s leading server on the night. Morgan Cassiday had 12 assists and 12 digs with Amanda Decker also adding 12 digs.
Harrison did not provide stats at press time.
The Hornets host Farwell on Wednesday.
Farwell spikers fall in four sets to Beavers
Host Farwell managed to win the first set of Wednesday night’s Jack Pine Conference volleyball match, but was unable to duplicate those results, falling in a 3-1 decision.
The Eagles picked up a 25-12 win, before falling 25-13, 25-19 and 25-17.
Kayla Balzer had 13 kills to lead Beaverton to the win, with Laura Fassett adding nine.
The Eagles play at Harrison on Wednesday.
Clare falls at Rosco
The Clare Lady Pioneer volleyball team dropped their Jack Pine Confernece opener on Wednesday night, suffering a four set blemish to host Roscommon.
The Bucks won 25-17, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-20.
Reagan Moffit had 10 kills to lead the Bucks and Michon Vanwormer had nine digs and six kills.
Clare hosts Gladwin on Wednesday.
