Bank donates $5,000 to clinic
Isabella Bank recently donated $5,000 to the McLaren Central Michigan Free Clinic. The gift will help to purchase items that are used in the treatment of patients and to assist with medications prescribed at the clinic.
“As a financial institution, we recognize our role is more than just lending money; it’s about lending a hand to those in the communities we serve,” said Steven Pung, President of Isabella Bank. “We have had a long-standing partnership with our local hospital and share many of the same philosophies of service to the community. We strongly believe that we are making more than a donation to an institution; we are making an investment in the future of our community.”
Since opening in January 2012, the Free Clinic has served more than 300 patients in need inIsabellaCounty.
McLaren Central Michigan Free Clinic provides no-cost primary care to low-income, uninsured residents ofIsabellaCounty. The clinic is staffed by qualified medical professionals who volunteer their time to serve our community. Non-clinical volunteers also assist with operations on clinic night, and with follow-up throughout the week.
“As soon as we learned of McLaren Central Michigan’s plans to open a free health clinic we immediately knew that we wanted to support this type of facility in our community,” Pung said. “Our sincere compliments go out to the staff of McLaren Central Michigan for all of the hard work, compassion and dedication they have put in to this free health clinic.”
The McLaren Central Michigan Free Clinic is located in space donated by the Central Michigan District Health Department at 2012E. PrestoninMt.Pleasantand is open every Thursday evening at5 p.m. For more information, call (989) 953-5333.
