‘Cops’ are a good neighbor
I am writing this because I would like to extend my appreciation to my neighbors, Cops And Doughnuts, for all the help they have given me. Recently when I lost power in my building, they allowed me to use their equipment so that I could complete my baking. This is not the first time that they have shown their generosity toward me – in fact, I might not be here at all if they had not assisted me when I began my business by letting me use their equipment while I was looking for a location and my building was being prepared.
The city of Clare is definitely big enough for businesses who are also good neighbors.

Cops and Doughnuts are indeed good neighbors. Any time someone needs a hand, they are the first to step up. Additionally, they are not intentionally “competing” with any other business in town or putting other businesses out. They make a point to tell their visitors about all that Clare has to offer in hopes of helping others. Retail and service businesses would do well to capitalize on the tourism Cops and Doughnuts brings to the downtown area. Why not extend business hours a bit on the weekends or until 7pm on the weekdays? Open up your storefronts and be inviting to the folks that come to Cops and Doughnuts! Take advantage of the social media they use and tag on with them! A recent example is this fall when the “color tour train” made a long stop in Clare. Many of the downtown businesses closed up shop. If I had owned a business in downtown, I would have put signs out inviting the passengers from the train! Maybe even offer a small discount if they showed their ticket stub that they were visiting from the train. Cops and Doughnuts capitalized on the stop and did great business that day. I grow tired of reading letters whining about Cops and Doughnuts. They know how to run a business – and are good at it. Maybe some of the downtown businesses could take a lesson from them. They are GREAT neighbors and we should all be PROUD to have them in town!!!
Funny you use the name LibertarianMama. You might be a mama, but you are no Libertarian. No real Libertarian would be cheering for state sponsored thuggery from our peace officers. I think you need to go back and check out what a real Libertarian is. It ain`t supporting thugs with guns that kill innocent people and steal your money. You support tyranny, no Libertarian does that unless they are a straight up phony trying to smear what it means to be libertarian.
It appears you have several business suggestions to offer, have you ever presented any of these ideas/suggestions at a meeting. You grow tired of reading about letters whining about cops and donuts yet you feel a need to bring it up as to defend something. Sure, there have been some letters over time, nothing to extreme. Maybe there are some rough edges for a lot of folks surrounding certain issues. There are people that have taken lessons. So go ahead- grow tired, be proud, they probably are GREAT ! Hey, keep the fire burning while your growing tired.
