Kudos to Farwell Area Community
To the Editor:
I was recently featured in an article about my photography contribution to the Drama program to Farwell High School. I would like to comment about the program if I may. The value of Drama in school may not be easy to understand other than an appreciation of a fine performance by the actors. Statistics indicate, however, that students involved in Drama generally show high levels of reading comprehension, self confidence, academic achievement, commitment, self expression, respect, and ability to interact with others. It is easy, then, to see why there are many in your community who contribute to make this program a success. Those, besides Mr. Jeff Thompson who teaches Drama and Tech Theatre, include the Eagle Pride Committee who promote positive things that can make a difference at the Farwell Area Schools, those who have contributed in the directing of the performances, the school administration for their continual support of the program, the Tech Theatre students who build the sets, those involved in lighting, sound, stage management, programs, ticket sales, and concession. Then there are the support groups; the businesses who provide financial support through their advertizing, the parents, family and friends, the student body, teachers, and the community who come to fill the seats in the audience. And last, but certainly not least, the student actors who make the commitment to successfully perform in manner to make every performance great.
I must give Kudos to The Farwell Area School community for the support of a great program that impacts students in a very positive way, and requires the involvement of so many to make it successful. You certainly fill your community with Eagle Pride. I feel privileged to be one of those who contribute to make the program a success.
