Johnson takes oath at Capitol ceremony
State Rep. Joel Johnson, at right, today took the ceremonial oath of office as state representative for the 97th House District in the 97th Michigan Legislature. Lt. Gov. Brian Calley administered the ceremonial oath in the state Capitol in Lansing.
Johnson serves the people of Arenac, Clare, Gladwin and the east half of Osceola counties.
“We want to make especially sure that government is more accountable to the people and their needs,” said Johnson, R-Clare. “There are concerns that government is over reaching in some areas, so making sure that every agency is answering to the people is one of the big things on my agenda this session.”
Johnson’s wife, Dawn, their son Clayton Johnson, nephew Darick Tack with his wife Christy and son Joel, took part in the ceremony.
