Pharmacy owner dies
Douglas A. MacLean, 76, long time Harrison businessman and community leader, died January 13 at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland.
A former medic in the U.S. Navy, he was the owner of MacLean’s Pharmacy in Harrison until his retirement in 1998. He and his wife Mary (Aggie) and four children moved to Harrison in 1964 after purchasing Johnson’s Drugs.
He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus council 7571, National Association of Retail Druggist and Michigan Pharmaceutical Association. He also was a proud member of the NRA.
An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed pontoon riding, trout fishing and tennis. He loved driving fast cars and collecting model trains.
Services were held January 16 with arrangements by Stocking Funeral Home.
