Clare girls win JPC bowling title, boys finish second

It took a two-baker game roll off, but after out-rolling Houghton Lake 290-269 the Clare Lady Pioneers earned the Jack Pine Conference bowling title at Gateway Lanes in Clare.
The squads entered the roll-off after both finishing the conference season 6-1.
Earlier in the day, Clare knocked off Gladwin 18-12, getting high games by Katie Warner of 149 and 136 and Desi Sayles with a game of 159.
In other girls action, Harrison topped Coleman 20-10, getting games of 149 and 143 by Courtney King. The Lady Hornets finished the year 2-5.
In the boys portion, unbeaten Gladwin topped previously unbeaten Clare 19-11, giving the Flying G’s the league title and perfect 7-0 record.
Gladwin won both baker games with scores of 210 and 201, and ou-trolled Clare 904-899 in the team game.
Jordan Hales led Clare with games of 191 and 199 as Clare finishes the year 6-1.
In other boys action, Harrison blew out Coleman, 30-0. Quincy Jones led the Hornets with games of 194 and 122.
Harrison finishes the regular season 4-3 in league play.
All JPC bowling teams continue their seasons on Saturday at the league singles tournament at Beaverton Bowl in Beaverton
