Smithsonian exhibit comes to library
Library Director, Sheila Bissonnette, accepts a $1,500 check from Jeffrey Mayes, Public Affairs Area Manager, Consumers Energy as a key local sponsor of “The Way We Worked” Smithsonian exhibit to open at the Pere Marquette District Library on April 9th.
“The Way We Work” is a traveling exhibit created by an innovative partnership that brings Smithsonian exhibits to small towns.
The Way We Worked has been made possible at the Pere Marquette District Library by the Michigan Humanities Council. The Way We Worked, an exhibition created by the National Archives, is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and State Humanities Councils nationwide. Support for Museum on Main Street has been provided by the United States Congress.
Local sponsorship includes Consumers Energy, DTE, and the Clare Area Rotary Club. The exhibit will open on April 9th and run through May 18th. For more information regarding the exhibit or to volunteer to work with the exhibit please contact Sheila Bissonnette at 989-386-7576 ext 4.
