CHS finishes fourth at Science Olympiad regionals
The Clare High School Science Olympiad Team took fourth place in Division C at the Region 3 2013 Science Olympiad Competition on March 16 at Mid Michigan Community College (MMCC). Fourteen teams of middle and high school students competed in events such as Mousetrap Vehicle and Magnetic Levitation that tested their knowledge of the science content expectations set by the state.
“We are happy with our fourth place finish. We will continue to work to earn even higher,” said James Winkler, Clare High School biology/math teacher and Science Olympiad coach. “We are very appreciative of the RESD and MMCC for hosting and running this competition.”
The Science Olympiad is a national, non-profit organization designed to promote scientific literacy among all students, an interest in science, and recognition for academic achievement. Region 3 Science Olympiad is co-sponsored by Mid-Michigan Community College and Clare-Gladwin RESD.
