Farwell’s Frank runs to school record in 3200

The Farwell varsity track team competed at an indoor meet at Saginaw Valley State University on Monday, getting a record breaking performance by Brandon Frank.
Frank broke the school record in the 3200, running a time of 10:12.80 and took second place in the event. The previous record holder was Jacob Timlin in 1991.
“I am very proud of Brandon,” Farwell head coach TJ Staley said. “He is a dedicated athlete and we are happy to have him here at Farwell. I am looking forward to seeing him improve as the season progresses.”
Tanner Touchtone was the lone first place finisher for the Eagles in the 12-team event, running a 400 meter time in 53.41.
Touchtone also took second in the high jump with a leap of 5’10″ and Keegan Rohdy placed second in the 60-dash with a time of 7.57.
Luke Schultz took third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:06.51 and a distance medley relay team of Schultz, Rohdy, Chris Hernden and Frank took first.
On Friday March 22 the Eagles competed at Grand Valley State University in a 20 team meet.
Frank took second in the 1600 with a time of 4:45.63 and a team of Rohdy, Hernden, Schultz and Touchtone took third in the 4×600 with a time of 6:12.58.
Luke Schultz added a fifth place finish in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:11.28 and Cameron Disbrown took seventh in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.69.
The Eagles opened the season on March 21 at Central Michigan University, competing in a 15 team meet.
The Eagles had two relay teams take first place honors, one being the 4×400 relay team of Rohdy, Schultz, Josh Gross and Touchtone with a time of 3:52.34 and the other being the 4×200 team of Jacob Turner, Hernden, Touchtone and Rohdy with a time of 1:40.93.
Rohdy added a second place finish in the 60 hurdles with a time of 7.61 and Schultz clocked in at 5:07.18 to come in third in the 1600. Turner took fourth in the long jump at 17’8.5″ and Cameron Disbrow was fourth the 60 hurdles timing out at 9.85.
The Eagles return to action on April 12 at the SVSU outdoor meet.
