CMU student dies in 4-story fall
A 21-year-old Central Michigan University student died last Sunday morning after he fell four stories while at a Grand Rapids complex.
According to information from city police, the student, Zachary Bunting of Grand Ledge, was at the B.O.B. [Big Old Building], a renovated multi-venue entertainment complex, when he fell around 2 a.m. April 14 in an attempt to slide down a railing in an open stairwell.
Despite police and firefighters attempts to save him, Bunting was pronounced dead at the scene. A junior at CMU, Bunting was a member of the club hockey team at the university.
