Three charged in gun larceny

Three Clare County men are in jail in connection with a November larceny of guns from a GarfieldTownship pole building.
Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski reported Monday that a four-month investigation led to the arrest of Joshua Joseph Letts, 26 and Ryan Andrew Scherbaty, both from Garfield Township. The two men were arrested April 5 and a warrant was issued for a third man from the Play Land Subdivision in connection with the B & E.
Letts and Scherbaty were both arraigned in 80th District Court this week for breaking and entering with intent/Larceny of Firearms; Felony Firearms and conspiracyto commit Larceny.
Letts bond was set at $15,000 cash surety and Scherbaty’s bond was set at $10,000 cash surety. Both men remain in the Clare County Jail, Miedzianowski reported. Letts is also facing charges of first degree criminal sexual conduct charges in connection with his relationship with a 13-year-old girl. He was arrested after a brief investigation March 27 on those charges, arraigned and bond set at $500,000 cash. He is awaiting a preliminary examination on the charges.
An update from Detective Mike Coon Tuesday said, “Eric Philip Lugo, age 27, of Garfi eld Township was arrested when he turned himself into the Sheriff’s Department. He was arraigned on receiving and concealing stolen property in connection with the same larceny. His bond was set at $10,000.00 cash surety or 10%.”
