Clare PD gets free vehicles

The Clare Police Department has one of their new “hummers” on the road.
Chief Brian Gregory, shown here with the new “tactical” vehicle, said the two vehicles were provided by the military for their use “for as long as we need them.” He said the vehicles, even the new paint and outfitting was cost free for the department. “Even the parts we may need for maintenance will be provided by the military,” he added.
The one pictured here will be used for emergency situations and high risk investigations, he said. It has been outfitted and is on the road.
The other vehicle, which is not yet repainted, will be a public display vehicle to be used in parades, for school events and other events in the community. The paint for the two hummers was donated by several local businesses, he said.
