Two caught in the act taking items from home

A 22 year-old and and a 17 year-old from Harrison are lodged in the Clare County Jail on Home Invasion and larceny charges.
The two, Gregory Friese and Joel Coats, were arrested while stealing from a seasonal home in the 9000 block of Forrest road in Franklin Township July 1.
A “concerned citizen” had reported a suspicious vehicle leaving the home. While Deputies were enroute to the address, the same citizen called back to say the same vehicle had returned and was possibly stealing items from the home.
When Deputies arrived the found the two men inside the mobile home at the address in the process of taking items out. The suspect vehicle was already loaded with stolen items when Deputies arrived and Friese and Coats were arrested.
During the investigation, Deputies learned that the two had already taken one load to the scrap yard in Gladwin County and had returned to get more items.
Most of the stolen property was recovered and the two taken to Jail.
Both Friese and Coats were arraigned in 80th District Court on Home Invasion and Larceny charges Tuesday. Bond was set for Coats at $25,000/10 percent and for Friese at $15,000/10 percent.
Both suspects are still lodged at the Clare County Jail.
