Facility will destroy our quality of life
I have lived in Hamilton Township for 66 years, and my family has lived here for 70 years. I am the current owner of Devil’s Knob Golf Course, a small, family-run business that is located approximately ½ mile from the proposed DCP Midstream facility.
After returning from World War II as a disabled veteran, my father spent 20 years gradually transforming our family farm into a golf course.
My mother, my four sisters, and I helped build this course with our own hands and very little money.
I am gravely concerned over the inevitable effects this facility will have on my business, my community, and the environment.
People come to the Devil’s Knob Golf Course to relax and enjoy fresh air and peace and quiet. I am concerned that the hazardous emissions, foul smell, and noise created by this facility will scare business away. In a poor community with a struggling economy, this could cause the course to go under.
It is unfortunate that when a large corporation from Colorado decides to enter our community to construct a facility that will lower our quality of life, the residents seem to have so little say in the matter.
