Golf outing earns $2000 for Michigan Patriot Guard
The Tamaracks Golf Course in Harrison was the scene of a golf outing Friday, August 23, to benefit the Michigan Patriot Guard and other Veteran Projects. Members of the Sons of the American Legion Post 558, The Ladies Auxiliary Post 558 and the Honor Guard from Post 558 all joined together to make this outing successful.
The outing began with the Honor Guard “posting The Colors”, leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance (including the words “one nation, under God”) and singing of the National Anthem (led by Army Veteran Bob Mulrenin). There were 132 golfers & 10 energetic volunteers on hand to make sure all went well. The day boasted over 50 hole sponsors who graciously supported the cause with their donations.

Other projects include a donation to a local veteran’s memorial, contribution to the Wilwin Lodge (a retreat for active duty veterans) and a donation to the Honor Guards of Legion Post 558 and 404.
