Meet Farwell’s new principal

A new Principal in the Elementary School will be greeting parents and students as they begin the new school year. Mrs. Laurie Warner, a teacher in the building for the past 16 years, assumed her new role as Principal July 3rd.
Laurie taught taught preschool prior to coming to Farwell Elementary School to teach Kindergarten. She taught 3rd grade for nine years, 4th grade, and has had K-5 students in Physical Education/Health/Nutrition for the past 6 years.
She was raised in St. Clair and moved to the area during high school, graduating from Beaverton High School. She earned a degree from Mid Michigan Community College and Central Michigan University and is currently attending Saginaw Valley State University.
She said, “I am looking forward to working with the staff further, along with parents, the community, and of course the wonderful students at Farwell Elementary School. Many changes are taking place and great efforts are continuing to be made to provide our students the best possible education.”
Jane Jaime of the Eagle Pride Committee said, “It promises to be an exciting year for all students in the Farwell Area School District. Many new programs will be implemented in the buildings and the Staff and Administrators are looking forward to making the year ahead a great educational experience for all students.”
The school day this year will run from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 p.m. The first day of school, a full day, will be Tuesday, September 3rd.
Kindergarten Round Up will take place on Monday, August 26th, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Elementary School. Round-Up will be followed by Kindergarten Orientation on Tuesday August 27th at 6:00 p.m. in the Elementary Cafeteria.
Meet the Teacher Night for all Elementary students is planned for Wednesday, Aug. 28th , from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Middle School will hold an Open House on Wednesday, August 28th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
The Timberland High School Open House is set for August 28th from 5 to 8 p.m.
