Marshall orders hit on husband

A Harrison woman, Melody Marshall, 47, is facing murder solicitation charges after she allegedly attempted to have her husband murdered.
According to a release from the Clare County Sheriff’s Department, Marshall was arrested at her Hayes Township home Tuesday evening after a multi-jurisdictional investigation including the Sheriff’s Department, Battle Creek Police Department and Michigan State Police.
Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski said deputies had only recently learned of Marshall’s intentions to harm her husband. He said officers reportedly received a tip from an informant which led to her arrest.
Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis said Marshall and her husband, whose name was not released, were separated. He was also living in Harrison.
She said Marshall had contacted a person she knew in the Battle Creek area, allegedly in an attempt to have her husband killed. The person she contacted notified the Battle Creek Police Department around September 19. Battle Creek notified the Clare County Sheriff’s Department.
Marshall was arraigned Wednesday afternoon by Judge Josh Farrell in 80th District Court on the charge of Solicitation to Commit Murder.
Her bond was set at $150,000 cash/surety.
She remains lodged at the Clare County Jail.
