Howard named Farwell’s D.A.R. Good Citizen
Rebecca Howard has been named the 2013 Daughter’s of the American Revolution Good Citizen for Farwell High School. She is the daughter of Heather French and Stephen Howard. The DAR Good Citizen Award is based upon leadership, service, good character, and patriotism and is sponsored by the Michilimacinac Chapter. Rebecca was nominated by the staff and voted by her peers for this honor.
Currently, Rebecca serves as both Student Council and Class Council President. She is also a member of National Honor Society. In addition, she has been a part of yearbook, journalism, and the Power of 100. Athletically, she participates in both volleyball and track. A high-honors student, Rebecca will graduate from high school with over 20 college credits through the dual enrollment program. She has earned both her Academic Letter and Bar along with the Presidential Outstanding Excellence Award. She has been a part of the All-Academic Volleyball Team the past two years.
Community service is important to Rebecca. Some of her favorite service projects include keeping stats for the wrestling team, Project Christmas, concessions, and Clash for the Cure. Currently a co-op student, Becca works as an accounting assistant at StageRight Corporation. After graduation, she plans to pursue a degree in Accounting at either Saginaw Valley State University or Grand Valley State University.
