County deputies were called to the scene around 11:16 a.m., Miedzianowski said. The crash investigation determined that a Chevy pickup driven by 59-year-old Geraldine Marsden of Detroit was eastbound on M-115 when she lost control of her vehicle and slid into the opposing lane.
Marsden’s pickup hit a Subaru Legacy, driven by Collette Anderson, 19, of Buckley, that was traveling westbound on the road. The release from Miedzianowski said Marsden was thrown from the vehicle because of the crash.
Marsden, Anderson and a passenger in Anderson’s vehicle Elizabeth Warbasee, 18, were all taken to MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare’s Emergency room. Marsden was later taken to MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland for further medical treatment.
Alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the accident and all three victims were reportedly wearing safety belts.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Lincoln Rescue/Fire Departments, Surrey Rescue/Fire Departments and by Mobile Medical Ambulance Service, the Undersheriff said.
