Lady Eagles fall to Meridian in overtime

The Farwell girls basketball team played at Roscommon Monday night, falling 45-25. Further information was not available at press time.
On Thursday, Jan. 16 the Lady Eagles hosted Meridian, falling 53-50 in overtime.
Farwell took a big lead after one quarter of playing, leading the Lady Mustangs 21-11. Meridian began its really in the second quarter though, cutting the Farwell lead to 30-24 at the half.
Meridian held Farwell to just five third quarter points and took a 38-35 lead entering the fourth.
Farwell took its turn making a rally in the fourth quarter, outscoring Meridian 11-8 to force overtime. Meridian controlled the extra session, out-playing Farwell 7-4 in the four-minute frame to secure the JPC win.
Caron White led Farwell with 17 points and six rebounds, Kate Saupe had eight points and nine boards, Jessie Theisen had seven points, Jenna McKinley also had seven points and hit a three-pointer, Selena Deleaon had five points and nine rebounds, Alysha Luster had four points and Nina Buccilli had two.
Farwell (4-6 overall, 3-5 JPC) hosted Gladwin on Thursday and plays at Alma on Monday.
