Rep. Johnson listens to concerns
Dec. 9, 2013: Monthly meeting at Clare Airport!
A Group of gentlemen voiced complaints and concerns over present policies for deer hunting. One concern was the licensing to take multiple deer during the season, lowering the probability of others to obtain one deer.
Rep. Johnson also spoke with those in opposition to the gas processing facility proposed for Hamilton Township. The topic had been brought to his attention that previous month, where he committed himself to finding answer for the township residents.
What permits would be needed and who would be responsible for granting the permits where just two of the questions.
Rep. Johnson stated he and his staff were also finding it difficult to obtain answers. But, he assured those attending the meeting that he would keep on the project. He was shown platbook maps of the proposed site in Hamilton Township and that of comparable facilities. Other facilities have a much larger buffer area between the facility and surrounding homes and farms, compared to the proposed locations for Hamilton Township.
A Lake resident brought concerns of his ongoing hardship getting proper care for his son related to “no fault insurance”. The devastating accident that caused his son’s permanent injuries was thirty years ago. Rep. Johnson listened with compassion and concern, always taking notes.
January’s meeting with Joel is the last Monday of the month at (7:30-9:00 pm) the Clare Airport. Come with your concerns and also meet other county residents.
