Painter death still up in air – murder or suicide?
By Pat Maurer
After more than three months, State Police are still looking into the death of Emily Painter, 26, of Lake last November.
Clare County Deputies were called to the Lone Pine Drive address in Playland Subdivision of Lake November 7 at 9:30 a.m. after a neighbor, Paul Tucker, found Painter’s body hanging from a children’s swing set in her home’s backyard.
Painter was home alone.
Clare County Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski said Wednesday that toxicology reports are still not back. “We should be releasing the results soon,” he said. “possibly by the first of next week.”
State Police from the Mt. Pleasant Post and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab headed up the investigation. They haven’t called the death a suicide.
