Participate in contest, and possibly win $1,000

Starting this week, THE CLARE COUNTY REVIEW, as well as several area businesses, are sponsoring the first annual $3000 GIVEAWAY.

The $3000 GIVEAWAY is a reader participation contest that runs four weeks. Participation is simple. Readers simply need to take a pair of scissors and cut out the entry blanks that are found in ads throughout the newspaper the next four editions.

To be a possible winner, you need to take the entry blanks and deposit them in canisters that have been placed on the counters of participating businesses. Those businesses are identified in a half page ad found in this week’s newspaper.

What’s at stake? Would you believe $1,000? First prize is a $1,000 gift certificate to ACE Hardware, Clare, where one can spend the grand on any number of items large and small. If you’ve ever been to ACE you know they have practically everything under the sun. I’ve never been to a better stocked hardware.

Readers also have a shot at winning the second prize of $500. That prize is actually a gift certificate to Jay’s Sporting Goods.  I don’t think I need to tell you the kind of inventory one of Michigan’s largest sporting goods stores possesses. You won’t have a problem spending $500 in this Clare store.

Third prize is $300 cash. No stipulations here- spend it how you want, or put it in the bank- we don’t care.

$1200 will also be awarded to local businesses.

There are a few rules. For one, don’t think you can get away with stuffing the entry boxes. We will closely monitor them and if you attempt to enter more than once per business you will be disqualified. Secondly, we expect you to be 18 years of age. The contest runs until November 19. You have until 5 p.m. that day to enter. Remember, each edition before that date will include entry blanks so you can enter up to four times at each participating business. The more times you enter, the better chance you have of winning one of the three prizes.

Winners will be drawn on November 27. Watch this newspaper for details as to where and what time the drawing will take place. Readers are encouraged to attend. We will notify winners the same day.

Finally, participating businesses are spending a lot of money to sponsor this contest. Please take your time when entering their stores to take a look at the merchandise they have to offer. We are extremely blessed in Mid-Michigan to have dedicated, independent businesses that really care about their customers. Hopefully, as consumers, you will take the time to browse and shop.
