Funny Business Lands Harrison man in Jail
On October 27, 2009 Clare County Sheriff Detectives arrested a 40 year old Harrison man on 2 counts of passing a false vehicle title, 2 counts receiving and concealing stolen property over $1,000, and 2 counts of False Pretense over $1,000.

The Clare County Sheriff Department Detectives along with the Frost Township Police Department began an investigation in April of 2009 after receiving information that the Harrison man had stolen two vehicles and was now  in possession of them using them for his daily use.
It was reported that one vehicle had been stolen in 1999 for a dealership in Kalkasa County and the second vehicle stolen from a residence in Gladwin County in 2000.

Clare County Sheriff Detectives contacted the Michigan State Police for assistance confirming that the two vehicles were stolen. During the investigation it was discovered that two vehicles owned by the Harrison man had been chopped up, parts from his vehicles were placed on the stolen vehicles to mask the theft.

Michael Scott Pergl, age 40 of Harrison was arrested on October 27, 2009 after he turned himself into the Clare County Sheriff Department, he was arraigned in the 80th District Court in Harrison. His bond was set at $20,000 cash, and was released on his own Personal Recognizance. If convicted Pergl could face 10 years in Prison for this crime.


Can’t believe everything you hear….or read for that matter. I don’t trust the police in Clare County any farther than I could throw them.
I know Mike, I know he stole at least one of the vehicles becaused he bragged about it. I know the officers involved and I hope they can make it stick. Mike is known as teflon Mike, I hope this sticks.
