Phyllis Marie Friday

Phyllis Marie Friday, 89, loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Horizons Senior Living in Clare. Phyllis was born on January 17th, 1920 to Adam and Lena Kraatz, Sr. in Standish. Phyllis married William Friday on April 19, 1941, in Pinconning. William preceded Phyllis in death in 2002. Phyllis and Bill worked on the family farm in Bentley for many years. Phyllis enjoyed crocheting afghans for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phyllis moved to Clare in 2007. The staff and residents of Horizon Senior Living became her extended family. She enjoyed playing cards and doing crafts with her friends.

 

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Jerry) Harrow, Sr. of Whittemore; 2 grandchildren: Jerry (Karen) Harrow, Jr. of Brookline, NH. And Sheila (Paul) Bissonnette of Lake, MI. 5 great-grandchildren: Allison, Ashley, and Angela Harrow, also Nathan and Abigail Bissonnette. A brother, Adam Kraatz and his wife Iva; a sister Beulah Whitney; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Oliver Amley. Preceding in death was her brother Virgil Kraatz.

 

Visitations will be at the R.O. Savage Funeral Home in Standish on Friday, October 30, 2009, from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Standish at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Burial Services will follow at the Gibson Township Cemetery in Bentley. Memorials suggested to the Pere Marquette District Library Endowment Fund, The American Lung Association or donor’s choice.
