Selma A. Niemann

Selma A. Niemann, age 98, of Clare passed away on Sunday, Dec. 13, at her home.  She was born the daughter of Charles and Laura (Brandes) Suemnick on November 4, 1911, in Waltz, Michigan.  She married Louis John Niemann on June 18, 1932 in Waltz, Mi., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1981.  Selma and Louis moved to the Clare area from Wayne County in 1970 following retirement.  They were members of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clare.

Selma is survived by her sons, Roger and his wife Christine Niemann of Milan, Mi., and Jerry Niemann of Carelton.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Lynn Ann and Scott Johnson and three Great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Louis, son Melvin and daughter Janice, daughter-in-law Juanita Niemann, five brothers and her sister-in-law Clara.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 11:00 AM from the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clare with Pastor Kevin Leidich officiating.  Burial was in the Cherry Grove Cemetery.  Visiting was at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  If you were unable to attend, you are invited to sign the Niemann family’s online condolence register at www.stephenson-wyman.com
