Duane E. Jewell

Duane E. Jewell – age 78 of Lake, MI died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Campbell – Stocking Family Funeral Home, Farwell. Jon Baker will officiate. The family will receive visitors from 1 to 3 PM Sunday prior to the service.

Duane was born May 18, 1931 in Holly, MI the son of Charles and Mabel (Lovell) Jewell. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. He married Nancy Schmidt on February 15, 1955 in St. Charles, MI. Duane was a member of the Lake DAV #105 Wilson – Blackmer Post and the RATS of the DAV. Surviving are his wife Nancy; 6 children, Pamela and husband Jon Baker of Mt. Pleasant, Mike Jewell of Montrose, Melody and husband Dave Courtney of Six Lakes, Patrick Jewell and wife Kim of Morrice, Valorie and husband Tom Robucks of Rodney, Noreen and husband Nick Rechlin of Gladwin; 16 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Charolett Everly of Holly, MI; Duane was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
