TOPS 1847 BAKE SALE
Let TOPS 1847 in Lake bake your valentines goodies for you. There will be a bake sale at Isabella Bank – Farwell Branch on Friday February 12, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to close or the food is gone.
EUCHRE PARTIES
On February 13th and 27th The Lincoln Township Fire Department Aux. will host Euchre Parties at the Lincoln Township Hall in Lake George. The events start at 6:00 p.m. We will play five games have refreshments then play five more games. For information call 989-588-4217.
FARWELL LABOR DAY COMMITTEE MEETING

CHILI COOK-OFF
There will be a benefit for Ann John “AJ” at DJ’s Lounge in Farwell on February 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Donation is $5.00 all you can eat. Cook-off entry Deadline is February 2, with $100.00 awarded for first place. There will be music, a 50/50 raffle and drawings. For information call 588-6704.
ICE CARNIVAL
Lake of the pines is hosting an Ice Carnival at 7257 Ashard Road on February 13, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be euchre, kids games, silent auctions, raffles, games of chance and more. FARWELL LITTLE LEAGUE
Farwell Little League announces sign up dates for the 2010 season. They are Saturday, January 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 1 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All sign ups are held in the Jamie Performing Arts Center in Farwell High School. NEW registrants must bring a valid birth certificate and proof of residency for each player. RESIDENCY MUST BE WITHIN THE FARWELL SCHOOL BOUNDRY MAP. Which school a child goes to is not a factor in determining which league program a child plays in. Any questions should be directed to John Pakledinaz at 989-339-5013.
FAMILY WINTER CARNIVAL
The Wig society is hosting a Family Winter Carnival on February 6 in Downtown Lake George from noon to 3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 11:00 at the community Hall. Browse through the Juried Irish Festival Arts & Crafts Show from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Clare Primary School, Saturday, March 13. Unity of Clare Church will be holding an Acoustic Café on Wednesday February 10, at 6:30 PM at the Church, 215 W. Sixth Ave, Clare. GALLERY SHOW AT ST. JOE’S BOX FACTORY FOR THE ARTS:
Bob Guiliani’s photographic art of nature is currently on display in the Robert Williams Gallery in St. Joseph, MI, at the Box Factory for the Arts. “I really had a difficult time selecting which images to take to the show,” Guiliani says. “Linda and I have photographed in so many beautiful places, which includes the Clare area, that narrowing it down to what would fit in the gallery was tough. We have so many art pieces that there would not be enough room in just one gallery show. And, there are still many that have not yet made it to the canvas.”
The exhibit will be on display at the Box Factory until February 19th. In conjunction with the show, Bob has produced a book with many of the show’s images plus a few that did not make the show.

BIZ EXPO FEB 25
“Hunt for Success”. The 13th annual Business Expo will be held Thursday, February 25th, at the Doherty Hotel in Clare. Approximately 60 booths featuring Mid Michigan businesses will be showcased. Entry to the Expo is free of charge and open to the public.
The Expo committee is planning another spectacular function geared toward helping promote area businesses. This year features a Safari theme and décor. Hours are from 1:00-7:00 pm, with Expo After Hours from 5-7 pm. There will be a $2.00 charge for entry in to the Business After Hours.
Activities include door prizes, 50/50 drawings, Best Decorated Booth contest, and the always-popular Silent Auction. A portion of the proceeds from the auction is donated to local organizations and area students.
