Martin charged in Gladwin Murder
Harold Nicolas (Nick) Martin, 29 years of age from Sanford was arraigned March 5, 2010 in the 80th District Court of Gladwin County. He is charged with one count of Open Murder in the February 28, 2010 slaying of his father, 61 year old Harold Louis Martin of Gladwin
Martin stood mute at his arraignment and a not guilty please was entered on his behalf. Bond was denied and Martin remains lodged in the Gladwin County Jail.
This arrest is the culmination of countless hours of work by many agencies. Significant assistance was provided by the Gladwin County Sheriff Department, Bridgeport Crime Laboratory, Gladwin Prosecutors Office and officers from the Bay City, Bridgeport, and Gladwin Posts of the Michigan State Police.
 As previously stated we continue to investigate this incident, and additional information will be released when appropriate. We wanted to get the word out to the community as quickly as possible so as to dispel any notion that this might be a random killing. We are confident this was an isolated incident, and that we have the person responsible in custody.
