MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare cordially invites the community to the 31st annual Love Light Trees ceremony and candle lighting remembrance event set for Tuesday, Dec. 1, beginning at 7 p.m., in front of the Medical Center in Clare. Co-chairs of this year’s Love Light Trees project are Steve and Amy Stark.
The Love Light Trees will be lit in a festive ceremony that will include an invocation by David Singer, minister of the Harrison Church of Christ. Entertainment will be provided by the Clare Congregational Bell Choir, St. Cecilia Pre-School and Mallory McDowell. The Medical Center’s Most Valuable Person of the Year will be illuminating the Love Light Trees. The lighting of the remembrance candles, appearance by Santa and holiday refreshments will help round out the evening’s program.
Gifts from this year’s fundraiser will purchase a Vmax® Encore System. This is a comprehensive pulmonary function testing (PFT) system. Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are noninvasive diagnostic tests that provide measureable feedback about the function of the lungs. By assessing lung volumes, capacities, rates of flow, and gas exchange, PFTs provide information that, when evaluated by physicians, can help diagnose certain lung disorders in children and adults.
During the Love Light Trees ceremony, lights placed on the evergreens located on the Medical Center’s campus symbolize contributions to the program. Donations may be made to remember a loved one or to honor friends and co-workers. Gifts can also be used to commemorate a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary. Recipients will be notified of the tribute. Those who would like more information or wish to donate to this year’s Love Light Trees campaign may contact MidMichigan’s Fund Development Department at (989) 839-3342 or

The 5th annual Walk through Bethlehem will once again be hosted by Clare Assembly of God on Friday, December 18, Saturday, December 19, and Sunday, December 20 .    Arrive any time between 6:00 & 8:00 p.m.  Clare Assembly of God is located at 3557 E. Colonville Rd., Clare, MI.  The last four years have demonstrated that this truly is a community event with fifteen local churches involved in the pageant and the local businesses contributing food and supplies.   An average of  around 900 people have made this journey each year.   What a wonderful opportunity to teach our young people the true meaning of Christmas—and to be reminded ourselves as we take time out of our busy Christmas schedule of shopping, cooking, visiting, and decorating to reflect on that first Christmas so long ago.
While the experience of walking through the village is wonderful, think how rewarding it would be to take part in it yourself. If you have a servant’s heart, we welcome your participation and we will find a place where you can offer your talents.
Call the church office at 989-386-3232 if you have any questions or to volunteer.  Ask for Barbie McNutt.
