CLARE CITY HALL Delivers your LETTERS TO THE NORTH POLE

‘Santa Claus is coming to town…’ to pick up your letters!  Leave your postage-free letter with return address for Santa now through December 11th in the special red mailbox located in the front entrance of Clare City Hall and you may receive a letter from Santa!  (Please note that letters can be dropped off at any time of the day, as the front lobby is always open.)
Start working on your letter now to make sure that Santa receives your letter on time!  To participate, children must live or go to school in Clare.  For more information please visit www.cityofclare.org  or contact the Recreation Department at 386-7541 extension 213.

Santa Letters at the Surrey TWP. Public Library

Through special negotiations with Santa, Surrey Township Public Library will be given a special mailbox for all letters addressed to Santa. Children can bring their letters for Santa into the Clubhouse and deposit them into Santa’s Mailbox. Santa’s elves will pick up the letters and deliver them straight to Santa. Letters received during this period will receive a special note from Santa, so please make sure all return addresses are legible. This program will run Saturday, November 25th through Saturday, December 16th.

Clare County 4H Cabin Fever Club

Clare County 4-H has an exciting opportunity taking place this winter available to youth age 5 to 12. The Cabin Fever 4-H Club is a short term special interest club that will meet once a week for four weeks during the month of January. Weekly activities will include a hike and scavenger hunt, winter crafts, bird feeder creation, snowshoeing and a celebration including outdoor cooking and fun. This will all take place at the Harrison campus of Mid Michigan Community College.
Space is limited to 15 youth. To register, contact Alex Schunk, 4-H Program Coordinator, at the Clare County MSU Extension Office at 989-539-7805 or by email schunkal@anr.msu.edu. An active email address is required to register.

Visit from Santa

On Saturday, December 9th Farwell Women’s Club will host their annual  visit from Santa from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m at Farwell High School.
Please bring your children  and let them enjoy a visit with Santa and give him their wish list!! Treats provided for each child.  Hope to see you on December 9th…1 to 3 p.M.

Farwell Christmas Celebration

On Saturday December 9th the Farwell Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Annual Holiday Lights and Marketplace at the Farwell High School from 10 to 4pm. There                                                                                                                                   will be children’s Games, Silent Auction and Crafters in the Marketplace inside the main entrance of the High School
The Farwell Women’s Club will be hosting a visit with Santa Claus from 1pm to 3pm. At 5:30pm there will be a parade down Main St.  Directly following the parade The Village of Farwell  will have a tree lighting celebration in Farwell Village Park. Spaghetti Dinner Benefit For Sandy Nelson

On August 31st Sandy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. There is no cure for this Cancer. This news came after months of being told the symptoms she was experiencing were acid reflux. A Cat Scan was finally performed that revealed a tumor. It was during emergency removal of the tumor that doctor s discovered cancer had already spread to the lining of her stomach.
Those who know Sandy know that she is a kind and generous person. Sandy is a loving wife, friend, sister, mother, and grandma. Her family is her life and she is determined to fight this disease! Sandy is truly deserving of our support during this difficult time! Please join us for a benefit dinner to honor and celebrate this wonderful woman!
Proceeds will help alleviate any financial burden that Sandy and her family may face during this journey!

Clare Assembly of God Presents The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

Join us as The Kingdom Kids at Clare Assembly of God present The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe on Sunday, December 10 at 10am. Prepared and arranged by our kids’ & youth pastor, Jonathan Harper, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is sure to delight families. It includes our favorite characters from the story by C.S. Genealogical Society Meeting

The Genealogical Society of Isabella County will be holding its final meeting of the year on
December 14, at 7:00pm at the Isabella County Commission on Aging. “Celebration of Our Ancestors” will be the program. Members may share a family artifact and or a portion of their genealogy and also share a treat made from a favorite family recipe for all to enjoy.

A Christmas Tea

A Christmas Tea to benefit Clare County Baby Pantry will be held Thursday, December 14 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at First Congregational Church, 211 W. Spruce St., Harrison, MI.  Goodies, entertainment, information and silent auction will be available.  There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted.
