Winter Euchre Night

The Lake George Boosters Club Welcomes The Public to our Winter Euchre Night.  We play Tuesday’s starting Jan. 2, 2018 through April 24.  The doors open at 6pm and cards start at 7pm.  We are located at 89 S. Bringold Ave. north of Lake George.  You are welcome to bring a snack to share at the break it you wish.

Free Clothing

Living Hope Lutheran Church Free Clothing store will reopen in January on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday’s of the month. January 9th from 9:00am to 3:00pm and on Tuesday January 23, from 9:00am to 3:00pm. We have loads of cloths plus blankets, sheets, toys, curtains, and much more. Come see what we have for your family. We are located in the old Chemical Bank Drivein, 2370 W. Ludington Drive, Farwell across from Reds Party and Marathon Station. If the schools are closed for weather we will be closed also. Also, on the first Friday of every month Living Hope Lutheran Church has a free movie and popcorn night starting at 6:00pm. This month the movie will be “Champion” and I understand it is a wonderful movie. Come join us on Friday January 5th for a wonderful and fun night. We are located at 2855 Cadillac Drive, Farwell which is located at the M-115 and US 10 overpass.

Rosebush Ecumenical Assistance Program (REAP) Free food pantry on Thursday’s at the St. Henry Church – corner of Mission & Vernon Rd  Serving Rosebush, Mt. Pleasant, Clare, Farwell, Lake, Weidman only. Hours 9:00am – 11:00am Please bring a valid Michigan ID

FREE CLOTHING STORE

Priceless Apparel is located at the Rosebush United Methodist Church and provides “like-new” clothing for the entire family.   Sizes range from infant to adult.   Casual, dress, belts, shoes, children’s items are just some of the free items available.   This store is open to all families regardless of area or zip code.
The store is open every Thursday from 10:00am – 12:00 Noon, and Sunday’s before worship from 9:00am – 9:45am and immediately following our worship service from 10:00am – 11:00am, Priceless Apparel opens at approximately 11:15am.

Timber Tax Workshop

The Clare Conservation District will be putting on a Timber Tax and Contract workshop. This event is for Landowners, loggers, foresters, timber buyers, accountants, tax prepares, or anyone else who buys or sells wood. This workshop will cover tax-savings programs, claiming timber sale revenue, negotiating an effective timber sale contract and more.  It will be presented by Susan and Bryce Metcalf, from Metcalf Forestry. This will be January 4th at 4:30-7 pm at Harrison City Hall. 2105 Sullivan Dr, Harrison

CLARE HIGH SCHOOL HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS

Clare County Food Distribution

The next Clare County Food Distribution and Nutritional Education event is Saturday, January 6th, at McGuire Chevrolet at 712 W. US 10 (5th St.) in Clare. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., and the food will be distributed beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. The event will be conducted indoors. All who want food will receive it as long as supplies last with the limitation of one food package per household. Please bring your own reusable bags, boxes, or baskets if you can. There may be a long wait, so if you need to sit, please bring a chair.
The January Food Distribution and Nutritional Education event is being sponsored by Clare County community members. The food distribution and educational events are conducted by the Community Nutrition Network. Animal Shelter Adoption Event

On Saturday, January 6 from 10 am to 2 pm at Family Farm and Home, Clare : 10360 S. Clare Ave, Clare, MI 48617 Clare County Animal Shelter will be holding same day adoptions. Animal Shelter volunteers will be bringing an assortment of friendly dogs sure to appeal to more active owners and their families! Same-day adoptions, Fixed cats available for $30 adoption fee, fixed dogs $40; any pet not already fixed requires a further refundable $50 deposit. Family Farm and Home is in the shopping center at the north Clare exit, behind the Shell station and KFC/Taco Bell: 10360 S Clare Avenue.

Pere Marquette District Library Dance Activities

On January 13, 2018, Clare Parks and Recreation and the Pere Marquette District Library will be partnering with the Newman School of Dance for a dance program. Come and dance with us and complete a couple of dance activities and some treats.
