AMERICAN LEGION POST 558 TO HONOR WWII VETS ON D-DAY
Friday, June 06 will be the 70th Anniversary D-Day.  156,000 Allied troops (USA, UK, Canada, France & Norway) stormed the beaches with 5,000 ships/landing craft, 50,000 vehicles and 11,000 planes.  Over 10,000 of these brave troops were killed, wounded, captured or missing in action!  Did you know that over 400 of Michigan’s service personnel are still buried on those beaches?  As a community we must commit ourselves to REMEMBER-HONOR-TEACH.  The memory of those who gave so much must never be tarnished or forgotten.

At Post 558 we are dedicating June 06 as a day to remember and honor all D-Day vets and all WWII vets!!  These are the folks that saved America!!  These are heroes that saved the world!!  We must never forget — not ever!!

We are putting a call to all WWII Vets (and their family, friends & neighbors) to attend our ceremony on Friday afternoon (June 6) beginning at 4pm.  We want to hear your stories!!  We want the chance to shake your hand and say “THANK YOU” face to face!

We are inviting everyone (The Post is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC that day) to attend the festivities at Post 558 — you will be moved by what these brave troops did and the experiences they have to share.  You will never think of D-Day the same again!!
