Peacock earns $1,000 for BBBS
Jennie a senior at Clare High School orchestrated a benefit fundraiser basketball that raised almost $1000 for Mid Michigan BBBS. Jennie was a volunteer for BBBS in a former Clare after school program so she believes in our mission and the importance of a Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Bates awarded scholarship
Abbie Bates, a sophomore equine business management major, has been awarded The University of Findlay’s Margaret and Paul Palmer Family Scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year. Bates, a2011 graduate of Clare High School, is the daughter of Mari and Joe Bates,7530 S. Rodgers Ave., Clare, Mich., 48617. The University of Findlay is a comprehensive university with a hands-on approach to learning located in Findlay, Ohio, approximately 45 miles south of Toledo.

Vick and Tyler announce engagement
Jessica Lin Vick and Jeffrey Tyler have announced their engagement. The bride is the daughter of the late Linda and Tom Lambert, from Lake Zurich, Ill., and Don and Nancy Vick from Salisbury, N.C. The groom is the son of Kathy Tyler of Clare and Larry Tyler of Apache Junction, Ariz. Ms. Vick graduated from the University of Iowa. She is employed as a project manager by Event 360 in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Tyler graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Mt. Pleasant and Loyola University in Chicago.
