Arby’s, Gloria’s win Irish decorating awards
The Clare Businesses came out in full force this year with their love for the Irish. With over 50 businesses participating in the Window Decorating Contest, it was quite a job to narrow it down. The Most Creative Award went to Clare Arby’s. The Most Decorated Award went to Gloria’s Tax and Accounting Services. The top 10 were: Clare Buccilli’s, Ponderosa, Hungry Howie’s Pizza, Mark A. Goulder-State Farm Agent, Suzanne James Flowers, Gateway Pharmacy, Clare Eagles, Gateway Lanes, Clare Big Boy, and Clare Camper Center. T & C RV Sales and Service.

Easter Services planned in area
By Pat Maurer Review Correspondent Special Easter services are planned at several community churches this weekend, with services on Good Friday, Easter Vigils on Saturday, and Sunrise Services, Easter Breakfasts and Easter Sunday worship services available. Highlights from the 2013 Irish Festival
Despite temperatures 50 degrees below what visitors to Clare enjoyed the previous year, winter-weary spectators lined Clare’s streets for outdoor events at Clare’s annual Irish Festival, the first sign of spring in mid-Michigan, last weekend. Record numbers participated in the 5K/10K run and 2 Mile Walk while hundreds watched the 9 a.m. start. More lined the streets Saturday morning for the annual Bed Races and the Kid’s Fun Run and it was standing room only for the hour long Irish Parade, although the attire was much different with unusually cold temperatures and occasional snowflurries to contend with.
