On June 22, 2016, St. Athanasius Knights of Columbus Council #7571, performed an Installation of Officers ceremony at St. Athanasius Parish before a gathering of wives, relatives, friends and Council Members. The ceremony was conducted under the direction of District Deputy Jim Combs and District Warden Dan Brooks.  Blessings were conducted by Chaplain Fr. J. Marcel Portelli.  This symbolic ceremony was followed by a social gathering to recognize and encourage the new Council Officers and to show appreciation to our volunteer members who have contributed to the success of the Council during the past year.  From the moment of its founding in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, the Knights of Columbus focus on their four core principles:  charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. St. Athanasius Council #7571 have dedicated themselves by living up to these principles.  These catholic men can be found supporting just a few programs: Coats for Kids, Girl Scout Religious Recognition Programs, food delivery, assisting in St. Athanasius Parish functions, roadside clean up, blood drives, blood pressure and flu-shot events, Right to Life sponsors, baby bottle drive collections, water to Flint residents, Tootsie Roll Drive for Special Olympics Summer Games and Special Education funding for Clare/Gladwin RESD.   Becoming a Knight of Columbus can transform your life.  You have the opportunity to support your parish, give back to your community, grow in your faith and gain exclusive access to our top-rated insurance program to protect your family.  We are a band of brothers, a network of men in communities around the world, dedicated to doing good in the service of God and our neighbor.
