Edward “Ted” M. Franklin, age 54 of Farwell, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at home. He was born the son of Larry R. and Susan (Tillstrom) Franklin on February 27, 1959 in Lansing. Ted grew up in Royal Oak and was a graduate of Kimball High School; he had moved to Farwell from Royal Oak in 1989. Ted worked at the Ponderosa Restaurant in Clare. He was very musically talented, having been a member of the Gateway Community Band, the Central Michigan Area Concert Band, the Scottville Clown Band and the Midstatesmen Barbershop Chorus. Gerlinde “Kay” Erika Wise, age 77 of Clare, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at her home. Kay was born August 21, 1935 in Bamberg, Germany. She was united in marriage to Fredrick L. Wise on November 21, 1964 with him predeceasing her on August 26, 2007. Kay had resided in the United States after moving from Germany in November of 1955. She had moved from Saginaw to Clare in 1969; she was a member of the Gladwin Church of Christ. She was born in Clare County on September 7, 1917 the youngest of Ethel Lena Virtue and George Washington Hendrie.
