Caldwell dies in crash

By Pat Maurer Review Correspondent A 35 year-old Clare man, Jeremy Allan Caldwell, died last Sunday morning in a one-car accident on North Isabella Road in Isabella Township about ¼ mile south of Vernon Road. According to a release from Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski, deputies received the call around 3:06 a.m. Responding officers said Caldwell was northbound in a 1994 Saturn on Isabella Road when the car crossed the road, entered a ditch and hit a driveway culvert. Hutchinson faces charges

By Pat Maurer Review Correspondent A 47 year-old Lake George man is facing criminal charges, resulting from a one-car accident on M-66 in Osceola County last Friday, according to a press release from the Michigan State Police. The driver, R.J. Hutchinson and two passengers, a 50 year-old Evart woman and a 12 year-old Evart boy were all injured in the accident on Sylvan Township near 7 Mile Road. Hullihen convicted of second degree murder

By Cathy Taylor Review Correspondent Blake Hullihen, 27, of Harrison, stood in silence as a jury of eight men and six women delivered a guilty verdict for the murders of Gabrielle Woodworth and Donald Feneis. Hullihen was found guilty Monday in Osceola County’s 49th Circuit Court of two counts of second degree murder along with two counts of felony firearm charges relating to the December, 2011 shootings of the Sears couple. Clare to hire another full time police officer

By Pat Maurer Review Correspondent   After recognizing Police Officers of the Year Greg Rynearson and James Leedy Monday, the Clare City Commission discussed the staffing needs of the Police Department. City Manager Ken Hibl reported that he had authorized Chief Brian Gregory to hire another full time officer. He said, “We are paying our part-timers overtime. They are working 70 hours a week, that’s unacceptable.” He continued, “We are now at the 1998 staff level.
