FMS honors top four 8th graders
Four eighth grade students have been named the top four students. The rest of the RESD will be at the event at Mid Michigan Community College on May 15, but these students will not be able to participate that day. They will also receive a $250 scholarship from MMCC. Students left to right: Edgar Espinoza, Andrew Pfeiffelman, Desiree Cantrell and Alex Dailey.

Clare, Harrison softball split
Clare and Harrison split a pair of Jack Pine Conference softball games Tuesday night, with Clare winning game one 2-1 and Harrison winning game two 8-2. The Pioneers scored one run apiece in the first two innings to pull ahead 2-0, with Harrison only scoring one run in the bottom of the fourth. Katya Halfman was the winning pitcher for Clare, tossing seven innings, giving up one run on five hits, six strikeouts and one walk. Allison Lipovsky was the hard-luck loser for the Hornets, pitching seven innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out 12 batters. Melissa Benchley [...]
Sigsbee graduates
On May 4, 2013, Dustin Sigsbee graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Dustin got his high school diploma from Farwell High School in 2006. He will be attending Western Michigan University for graduate studies and hope to achieve a master degree in philosophy. He plans to continue his education and one day get his doctorate degree. He is the son of Renee (Lambert) Sigsbee, a 1988 Farwell High School Graduate.
