Happy New Year Clare County!

January 18, 2018

In 2017 the Clare County Central Dispatch logged 41,255 incidents for the entire county.  This is everything that is done by all law enforcement, fire, EMS, DNR,

Animal Control, and anything that requires a documented incident.

In 2016 the total number of incidents logged was 40,094, so we were a little up from the previous year.  Our jail brought in over $1.7 million in revenue in 2017.
Our projected revenue was $1.5 so we went above by $200,000.  A HUGE thanks goes out to our Correction Officers and Transport Officers for all the hard work they do to keep us running as smooth as possible.

On January 12, 2018 we held our annual entire Sheriff Office meeting.  All employees are required to attend.  Awards were handed out to the top of each area, Law Enforcement, Corrections, 911 Dispatcher, Clerical Staff, Court Security, Reserve, and Mounted.

Congratulations to all of you for going above and beyond.

It’s so easy to just come to work every day and go through the motions without really feeling what you do.  What I’m saying is you can show up in body but not in mind.

You have to have a passion for what you do or you will eventually fade away in your career.  I see that passion in my employees, I see them showing up, “In Mind” for work.  No matter what position you have at the Sheriff’s Office, it requires you to have that passion and be in the right state of mind.  To all you who work under my direction I want to thank you for what you do for this County and who you are.  Continue to be passionate about the role you are in for the Clare County community.

I want to take time to thank a very important person to me and our entire law enforcement group.

Stan Lewis heads up the Hayes Township Neighborhood Watch program.  Even though we have lost the Deputy position in Hayes Township, Stan didn’t let that distract him from continuing to help his township out.  Stan goes out of his way to bring those interested together, sit down and exchange the information of what is happening in the area.  He arranges for speakers from the community to come in and talk to his group, to educate them in areas related to the neighborhood watch.

Thank you Stan Lewis for what you do, and who you are.
Again, Happy New Year!  May God Bless You all in 2018
Sheriff John S. Wilson
