incidents.  There were a reported 198 car/deer accidents during that period.

There were 343 car crashes with 26 having injuries and 3 fatalities during this period.

We investigated 27 Home Invasion, Breaking and Entering complaints during this period with 10 in Hayes, 7 in Lincoln, 2 each in Greenwood and Grant, and 1 each in Harrison, Garfield, Summerfield, Surrey, Winterfield, and Hamilton.

We recently had a jail inspection completed by the Michigan Department of Corrections County Jail Services Unit.  Upon inspections our jail was found to be in compliance with the Administrative Rules for Jails and Lock-ups.  I want to congratulate Jail Administrator Lt. Brian Dunn and his entire staff for the job they all do for us.

We were recently able to obtain 15 new Tasers from the military.  We were looking into having to replace and update several that we currently have.

These units cost around $1,000.00 apiece.  Tasers are an intermediate tool used to subdue combative individuals.

I would to take this time to thank our outgoing county commissioners, Karen Lipovsky, Jim Gelios, and Sandy Bristol.

Karen Lipovsky has dedicated over 20 years to the County of Clare as one of our Commissioners.

Jim has dedicated 16 years on our board and prior to that served as a police officer with the Macomb County Sheriff Office.

Sandy has been with us for only 2 years but was very dedicated to her area she represented, being very active in her community.  Thank you to all three of you for your dedication to this county.

I want to welcome the three new commissioners, Jeff Haskell, David Hoefling, and Mark Fitzpatrick.  We look forward to your new ideas and dedication to this county.

From my family at home and here at your Sheriff Office, we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Like Always,
GOD Bless
Sheriff John S Wilson
