“Traditional scientific method has always been at the very best, 20 – 20 hindsight. It’s good for seeing where you’ve been. It’s good for testing the truth of what you think you know, but it can’t tell you where you ought to go.” – Robert M Pirsig

The 2014-15 school year starts my 4th year as superintendent for Clare Public Schools!  As they say… “Time flies when you’re having fun!”  My oldest daughter, Tara, graduated from the district this past school year, which was very exciting, and my other two, Holly and Ryan, will both be in the high school this fall.  I have said it many times… Clare is a fantastic community within which to raise a family.  We feel very lucky to call Clare our hometown

This month’s article is a “shout out” and an “invitation.”  Totally connected to the title… Where Should We Go Clare???  Last year the School Board directed me to have a Facility Audit of the district.  Through this process we learned exactly what the repair/replace needs are of the entire district.  Now the Board has directed/supported me to conduct a stakeholder meeting to share and discuss our needs!  I am very excited to hold this meeting.

Major district needs center around our current Middle School and busses.  We do; however,  have additional important ideas to share that involve recent concepts that many of our community leaders have been working on with the school through fundraising projects such as Brookwood 2.0 and the Performing Arts Center Committee!  The purpose of our gathering/meeting will be to share all of our needs/wants and then discuss the way that we might be able to accomplish our goals such as a School Bond Project.

I welcome ALL of our Clare stakeholders to this important event!  I wish for EVERYONE to learn, question and offer support for our KIDS!  This is what I believe our Board, Staff, Community and Families are Best Known for doing!

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
