Shamrock Park will be filled with patriotic music 8 p.m.Friday, June 29th, as the Gateway Community Band, under the direction of Kenneth Feneley, presents its annual Fourth of July concert. The concert, “Independence at the Crossroads” gives homage to the civil war era as well as great events in American history.

The Gateway Community Band offers an opportunity for any musician to continue using and building musical skills, or to return to playing. Though based in Clare, many of the members travel from other parts in central Michigan to rehearse Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m. in the Clare High School band room. Band members come from all walks of life, representing a full gamut of occupations and all levels of musical talent. So bring your lawn chairs and join us under the Shamrock Park pavilion as we pay tribute to our men and women in the armed forces. Admission to the concert is free and fireworks will follow.
