Senior Jamboree

A Jamboree will be held Oct 27, at 6 pm at the Clare County Senior and Community Center at 101 W. Michigan in Farwell. Costume judging.  first prize  $10.00.
Halloween, Oct. 31, Costume judging, first prize – $10.00. Tuesday night Bingo at the Clare County senior and Community Center in Farwell; 101 W. Michigan, play starts at 6 pm. Yes our bingo license with the state has been renewed for another year!

Animal Shelter
Adoption Event

Homeless pets from the Clare County Animal Shelter will be available for adoption at Family Farm and Home, Clare on Saturday, October 28, 11 am to 3 pm. Same day adoptions.   Family Farm and Home is located in the shopping center at the north end of Clare, behind the Shell Station. Contact the volunteers on our Facebook page at

Methodist Church Trunk or Treat

The Clare United Methodist Church will be hosting Trunk or Treat at 105 E. Seventh Street, Clare, MI on October 28th from 2-4pm. The event is a free night of family fun, dress up in a costume and bring your treat bag to collect candy. Join them after for their free Saturday Soup supper from 4pm to 6pm. Everyone is welcome!

Clare Parks & Rec Halloween Event!

Join Clare Parks & Recreation for a fun-filled family Halloween event! On Saturday, October 28 following the Clare Pumpkin Run, join us for the Clare Halloween Spook-Tacular. Bring your little ghouls and boos for a day filled with Halloween games and activities, including; costume parade, pumpkin drawing, magic show, pizza eating contest and much, much more! The event will take place at Clare City Park and within some of our downtown businesses.
Spook-Tacular will kick off with the Clare Pumpkin Run at 10 a.m. and there will be a magic show with “Gordon Russ the Magician” immediately following at 11:30 a.m. at the Pere Marquette District Library.
Let your little goblins show off their best Halloween attire during our Kid’s Costume Parade at 12:30 p.m., led by Clare’s very own Skittles the Clown (meet outside the Pere Marquette District Library to participate).

Saturday Soup

Clare United Methodist Church at 105 E. 7th St is hosting a Saturday Soup event on the last Saturday of every month from 4pm – 6pm. Soup, salad, sandwiches, dessert, coffee, tea, lemonade and milk! Free to attend! For more information please call Laurie at 989-506-1812 or Rose at 989-588-2256.

Brown CornerS Church Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat will be Tuesday October 31st from 5:30-7:00. Decorate your trunk and give out candy! Sign up at the church or at the BCC Kid’s check in desk. Gift card for the best trunk. No ghosts, goblins, blood or scary stuff. Our purpose is a safe alternative for parents. It is also a good way for us to share God with kids. For more information call 989-386-2702.

Home cooking at its finest. Join the Clare County Arts Council and enjoy a full-course Amish Harvest Dinner at the Country Side Dinner at 8400 Colonville Road, near Clare.   The dinner includes fried chicken and meatloaf and all the trimmings, plus dessert.  The date is Thursday, November 2nd from 5-7 p.m.  Tickets are $20.00 each and must be purchased by Oct. 24.  Space is limited.

Priceless Apparel is located at the Rosebush United Methodist Church and provides “like-new” clothing for the entire family.   Sizes range from infant to adult.   Casual, dress, belts, shoes, children’s items are just some of the free items available.   This store is open to all families regardless of area or zip code.
The store is open every Thursday from 10:00am – 12:00 Noon, and Sunday’s before worship from 9:00am – 9:45am and immediately following our worship service from 10:00am – 11:00am, Priceless Apparel opens at approximately 11:15am.

Clare County Democratic Party Meeting

The Clare County Democratic Party holds their monthly meeting the first Thursday of the month. The next meeting will be November 2nd at 6:30 pm at the 4 Leaf Brewery at 412 N McEwan St., in the City of Clare, Michigan.  This meeting will feature guest speaker, Dion Adams, candidate for US Congress, 4th District.  There will also be information on the upcoming Trivia Night, scheduled for November 7th. The Public is welcome to all of our meetings.

The 10th Annual Craft & Vendor Show will be held at  Rosebush United Methodist Church, Saturday, November 4, 2017, 9:00am to 2:00pm – 3805 School Road (behind the Elementary School in Rosebush) Enjoy a wide variety of homemade goodies and handcrafted items.  We also have our ever popular Cookie Walk and a delicious lunch served between 11am and 1pm.  For more information contact the Rosebush UMC Office at 989-433-2957.

Clare County Food Distribution Event

The next Clare County Food Distribution and Nutritional Education event is Saturday, November 4th, at McGuire Chevrolet at 712 W. US 10 (5th St.) in Clare. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., and the food will be distributed beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. The event will be conducted indoors. All who want food will receive it as long as supplies last with the limitation of one food package per household.
Please bring your own reusable bags, boxes, or baskets if you can. There may be a long wait, so if you need to sit, please bring a chair.

Lake George Boosters Club
Euchre Night

The Lake George Boosters Club, 89 S. Bringold Ave., invites the public to play Euchre on Tuesday nights. Doors open at 6pm with cards starting at 7pm.  The euchre night will continue through November 21.

Clare High School annual Veterans Day program

Clare High School will host its annual Veterans Day program on Friday, November 10 beginning at 9 a.m. in the High School gym.
The program is for all area veterans of active and reserved military service and their guests. It will include presentations by the Clare High School Band and student vocalists. Refreshments and an art show in the high school commons will immediately follow the hour-long program.
