Adopt A Shelter Pet Day

Homeless pets from the Clare County Animal Shelter will be at Family Farm and Home in Clare on Saturday, January 12 from 10 am to 2 pm. We offer same-day adoptions and low adoption fees. Our Volunteer Adoption Team brings pets to off-site locations on frequent Saturdays to help people who can’t visit our shelter during normal business hours to find that perfect best friend!

Clare’s 515 Gallery presents “Presque Vu”

The 515 Gallery of downtown Clare is excited to begin its 2019 line up with “Presque Vu” featuring artist Zach Martis from Mt. Pleasant with free opening reception on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 6-8 pm.
Meet the artist, view his unique digital compositions and enjoy light refreshments during this cultural evening in beautiful downtown Clare.
The exhibit runs from Saturday, January 12th through February 9, 2019 – Gallery Conversation with the artist on January 26th at 11:00 am. 515 Gallery exhibit hours: Wednesday-Saturdays from 11 am to 4 pm. www.515gallery.org

Local Author Meet and Greet

Mr. Tom Carr will be presenting his book “MI Bad: Robbers, Cutthroats and Thieves in Michigan’s Past and Present”.

The Rosebush Ecumenical Assistance Program (REAP) Free food pantry is on Thursday’s 9:00am to 11:00am, located at the St. Henry Church – corner of Mission & Vernon Rd. Swiss Steak Dinner

The Swiss Steak dinner will be held at the Farwell United Methodist Church (on the corner of Ohio and Superior St.) on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. The menu includes: Swiss Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, hot vegetable, coleslaw, rolls, dessert and beverage. The donation is $9 for adults, $5 for children. Take-outs are available.

Small Business Day

The Coleman VFW Post 1071 and Order of the Eastern Star Coleman chapter 281 are pleased to announce a day to celebrate and support small businesses in the area on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds from the table rent will go to help the VFW assist needs within the Coleman community, and help the Eastern Star fund the training of Service Dogs to support people with a range of disabilities through Paws With A Cause and Leader Dogs.

Senior Socials

Our Lady of Hope Parish in Clare is hosting a social event for all seniors in the community.
This event will be held the first and third Friday of every month beginning Friday, January 4,2019 at the parish hall at OLOH. The events will be form 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
Treats and beverages will be provided by the church. We are suggesting everyone bring a bag lunch for themselves and enjoy what you like with old and new friends.
Rides will be made available for those needing one. Call the parish office at 989-386-9862 and we’ll do our best to make it work.
