INTERNATIONAL NIGHT

On March 1, 2014, the Multi-Cultural Club of Clare High School  will host its 3rd annual International Night. This event is for all ages and will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the C.H.S. high school.

The fun-filled evening will begin in the cafeteria with delicious international foods and cultural entertainment and presentations by CHS students, exchange students and teachers. The evening will conclude in the gymnasium with a piñata, Zumba Latin dance workout with Melanie Strawn and cultural displays by CHS students and exchange students. Pre-sale tickets are on sale for $4 for students and $5 for adults.

The cost at the door is $5 for students and $6 for adults. Children ages 3 and under are free. Proceeds will go toward the June 2014 Puerto Rico trip, Art Club fresh food truck charity and Multi-cultural Club events. Call the high school office at (989) 386-7789 to reserve your tickets.

GAFT WINTER COMEDY

Gladwin Area Friends of the Theatre will be presenting a Neil Simon Comedy “RUMORS”. Brian Shearer making his directorial debut with this performance.  Rumors takes place at a large, tastefully appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce.

Gathering for their tenth wedding anniversary, the host, Charlie, lies bleeding in the other room and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken and wife Chris must get «the story» straight before the other guests arrive.

As the confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.
Come enjoy an evening of laughs as the cast and crew have been working hard to develop this hilarious farce to the Gladwin County communities. The performance dates are: March 13, 14, and 21, for the performance only beginning at 8 PM the cost of $10.00 per person.

If your “taste” of theatre involves a Dinner/Theatre performance on the Saturday performances on March 15 & 22. A catered buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 pm with the performance to follow the dinner. The cost is $25.00 per person by reservation only. EAGLE EXTRAVAGANZA

A Catered Dinner and Auction Fundraiser on Saturday March 1, 2014 at the Clare Moose Lodge, Doors open @ 4:00 pm. Silent auction, live auction, raffles, bidding boards and games for amazing prizes.
Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at Farwell High School Office or by calling 989-317-6629 through February 25, 2014. All proceeds to benefit all Farwell Area Sports Programs.

NORTH CENTRAL AREA MEETING

Regular meeting of North Central Area Chapter #19, State Employee Retirees Association, will be held Tuesday, March 4, at the Houghton Lake Community Building (located back of The Pines Theater), beginning 2 p.m.
All retired state employees and their spouses are invited (and encouraged) to attend. For information call (989) 386-0085.

FUNDRAISER

Fundraiser for Keith Wale at the Rockwood Lounge in Farwell on February 23 from 1:00 – 4:00pm.

ICE FISHING CONTEST

Sponsored by the Lake Fire Fighters Auxiliary will take place on February 22,  2014.

Cost is $12 the day of and $1 0 before 2 -19-14. There will be a cash payout. Contest  starts at 8a.m. with weigh in at 4 p.m.  for the Largest pike & pan fish (based on weight).

Events take place on Crooked Lake, Clare Co., Peterson Park across the lake from Crooked Lk. boat launch

There will also be a Polar Dip at 12 p.m. in front of Crooked Lake Resort

Cost is $5/person, please RSVP by 2-19-14. A Warming Area is Provided, Medical Staff onsite, Water Rescue Personel will be in water. A voucher for Refreshments at Concession Tent is included in price.

Ice Bowling & Frisbee Golf takes place at 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. (in front of Peterson Park). Cost is $5/person/event. There will be 2 age groups: (12 and under) & (13 and over). In addition there will be a Snowman building contest

And all day events to keep you entertained. A Concession Tent, Warming Tent and  Ice Skating Rink, Raffle Prizes and 50/50 Raffles are available for you to enjoy.

To end the day there will be a Fireworks Display at DUSK on the ice in front of Peterson Park
